I liked Steve the invisible cat and Karl the Lyft driver and that was about it. The characters had no personality, I felt no connection to them or their romance, and the obstacles keeping them apart were so poorly dealt with that they just annoyed me. A character struggling with their self-esteem is a good subplot but not when you don't actually show them develop self-esteem and self-respect. The confrontation in the last chapter and the rosy "everything's fine now" epilogue didn't cut it. Moving on.
