Black Tiger by Sara Baysinger

well. I enjoyed it. some of the plot twists were a bit predictable, yet I was still surprised. I quite liked the storyline, and I thought it wasn't too cliche.
and I'm ... um ... not quite sure what to think about that ending.
even though this isn't a real review (I'll write a real one soonish) I would like to mention some things that might make you rethink your reading this book.
1.
Rape was mentioned. Yeah, it was. I know that's not such a bad thing to mention, if it's portrayed correctly (as it is wrong), but honestly, I'm not so sure it NEEDED to be mentioned. And actually, no one (mentioned) was raped. It was just that, without Embers interference, the girl would've been.
2.
Some of the language was... pushing it. at least for me. Now, there was no cursing. Mentions of cursing, yes, but no actual written words.
HOWEVER, there was 1 "pissed off" (which isn't a curse word, but its not a word I enjoy reading or hearing). there were 4, "[I don't] have the balls to do that," instances, and 3, "[he didn't give] a jackals nuts." Which, i, personally, found weird to read? since I don't say that?
3.
there was a kiss. *cue gasp* yep, my friends, they kissed. once. BUT, there were some mentions of physical attraction. Such as, she saw eyes flicker to her lips, and his eyes filled with longing; same dude brought her to a club (which is where the #1 happened) (also, in the club, there were these naked statue women, which, since Ember was repulsed, she didn't describe, but it was there nonetheless); and how Ember liked the way looked, etc.
anyway, I just figured I'd mention those *points to above* things, just in case I never get around to actually reviewing this book.
