This was a sweet holiday-themed dislike-to-love romance featuring a Jewish MC and LI. It’s also set in an independent book store, and I really liked the presentation of wholesome character dynamics and banter and the wonders of working at a bookstore alongside the pitfalls of retail jobs and the threat to indie stores. Silverman yet again writes in a diverse cast of characters with sensitivity and care, which I greatly appreciated. The themes of faith, family, tradition, friendship, culture, and coming-of-age were well-balanced for such a short, lighthearted read. The narration was funny and watching Shoshanna muddle through life was so endearing.
Graphic: Ableism
