Abandon Me: Memoirs by Melissa Febos

5.0

A compelling essay collection. Like Carmen Maria Machado's In the Dream House, and oft-excruciating depiction of an abusive lesbian relationship. Also reminiscent of Lelie Jamison's The Recovering, the addictive behavior, in this case a destructive love affair, goes on so long that it becomes painful to read. Febos is an excellent writer of embodied prose.
