Talking to Dragons by Patricia C. Wrede

5.0

So my main affection for this book honestly probably comes from Shiara. Not that Daystar isn't enjoyable, but he's kind of a bland hero bumbling through things, the everyman to give us a perspective into this wacky world rather than a realized character in his own right.
That said, this is still a fun conclusion (beginning, depending on your perspective) to one of my favorite book series as a child.
