The Song of David by Amy Harmon
5.0
Audiobook Review:
Narrators: JD Jackson and Zachary Webber
Narration Style: Dual
Length (at 1.0x): 9 h 28 min
Publisher: Tantor Audio
Narration Review: This was my first time listening to JD Jackson narrate, and I can't picture a better narrator for Moses's character. I loved him! Zachary Webber is a no-brainer narrator for me. I've listened to him several times now (he also goes by the name Jacob Morgan), and if he's listed as a narrator for an audiobook, it's an immediate selling point for me. Spot on.
Story Review: This was a breathtaking story! Tag is a side character from the previous book in the series, The Law of Moses, and characters from that book are quite integral to the story in this book, The Song of David. I highly recommend reading The Law of Moses prior to reading this book, or you will likely feel confused why certain characters are in the story, and may also miss some of the emotional punch that this story can give you. Millie, the heroine, is blind and a caretaker for her autistic brother, Henry. Millie and Tag meet by chance, and their relationship commences as friends, and then develops into a soul-deep love. I adored Millie's character - her fire, her spirit, her determination, and her kindness. Tag was an endearing character in The Law of Moses, and I continued to love him in this book. He's not used to relying on a team to help him, and his character development in the book touched my soul. This book tugged at my heartstrings, and I found myself tearing up several times as I listened to the narrators convey the emotion that the characters were feeling in their scenes. I simply cannot decide between a favorite in the series. I highly recommend them both if you are okay with unconventional or ambiguous HEA's.
