Queen of Hearts by Colleen Oakes
4.0
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Overall Review (spoilers)
I really loved this book, even though there were parts that were a little hard to read or understand at points. It was also refreshing of a read in that it flipped on the tropes on it’s head. Childhood friends turned to lovers? Nope. Rejected Queen is kind? Nope. Long dead mother was a saint? Nope! I appreciated the rejection of main tropes so much in this book.
The main character was not likable, nor was she designed to be which I appreciated. Even when we understand why Dinah acted the way she did, we still can’t fully agree with it. At the time of writing this review, I can say that I have read all three books in this series and I appreciate how Collen Oakes did not deviate from Dinah’s character.
Plot Rating: I give the plot itself a 5/5 stars.
