Let's Talk about It: The Teen's Guide to Sex, Relationships, and Being a Human by Matthew Nolan, Erika Moen

funny informative lighthearted fast-paced

4.0

A solid, overall looks at relationships, sex, and intimacy: it does a good job of approaching those in a way that is healthy for each person (really emphasizes how what works for some people does not work for others, and that's okay).

The book is mainly targeted at teens and covers all the major questions not just about sex and sexuality, but also relationships. While there are drawings that are graphic, the aim is to be informative, not pornographic (no matter how much some legislators have been decrying this book). The authors also made sure to use a diverse cast of characters, both teens and adults, to talk about the information, making it a very inclusive, realistic approach, something that is needed with the ubiquity and ease of access to pornography and the unrealistic expectations it can create for anyone.
