christopher priest took things in a weird direction with this one (i mean, it's comics, but even this one was an odd twist). the well-written comics of this area all liked heroes that couldn't show their hand without risking their plans, so you get these slow burn, tension-filled stories where it seems like the hero is deliberately allowing things to get worse before things are ultimately resolved. all in all, a solid black panther tale
