4.5 stars for the beginning of the new SP adventure.
Suspenseful, funny, emotional, like old times
- but not as suspenseful, funny and emotional as the last books.
It was great to be back, but some of my all time favourites sadly didn't make it into the book (Spacegrace, Vally's Dad Desmond, Tanith Low, ...).
Vakyrie's emotional trauma was written really, really well.
(But what about Tanith who had a remnant controlling her, whose life also got torn apart by Darquesse?! She lost Ghastly and Billy-Ray, and after the whole fight, Vally just left as well, leaving her alone with all this...)
Also great criticism of a certain president.
And thumbs up for including a non-binary character very casually and without making a fuss about it. That's how it's done.
I'm really looking forward to reading the next one.
I hope to get to see more of my favourites and I really hope that Skul and Val don't get romantic.
