Eye of the Needle by Ken Follett

4.0

One of the greatest deceptions of World War 2 took place not in Germany... but in a town that was not a town at all. From all indications, the Allied town looked to be jammed with multiple battalions of soldiers and weaponry but in truth it was just inflatable items and wooden cutouts. This trap by the Allies threw Germany into disarray with their eventual preparations for d-day, as they were under the impression that the main bulk of attack would not be coming on the beaches of Normandy. And the only person who can possibly stop Germany from making this mistake is a spy who has eluded the English authorities and somehow found his way to a remote island where he awaits rendezvous with his U-Boat. Will he be able to get there? Ken Follett is simply masterful in the twists and turns he lays forth in this historical piece of fiction. Well worth a read.
