Night World, No. 1 by L.J. Smith

2.0

So, let me start off by saying that the only reason this book has two stars is because I have to admit, the night world is interesting.

The writing is blah. It's a tad plain but it pushes the story along which I guess is okay. The characters all seemed to have something similar: they find a soulmate in a human; which became boring after the second book Daughters of Darkness.

One thing really urked me: Smith ALWAYS made the character think that they had changed. It's called SHOW not TELL which really annoyed me. It was almost as if she thought we were too stupid not to notice the change in characters. Blah.

And are these seriously books? I found that there were extremely short and to me they felt more like novellas than actually novels.

The one thing Smith has done right is make their world interesting enough that I might actually give the next 3 in 1 a shot.

Overall, there was real no example as to why these are bestseller books.
