If you want an action adventure novel, read this. If you want a Russian spy novel, read this. If you want treasure hunting, skip this.
Sadly, treasure hunting, which is what I feel like is the core of any Clive Cussler novel, was severely lacking. It was more or less a sloppy afterthought.
As always, Cussler finds a way to make women unnecessarily naked. And the “romance” was less than half baked. There was no lead up, not I might like him. Just suddenly making love in a drainage pipe in Cuba while avoiding the enemy. Like talk about a case of not the right time.
