STINK PALACE!!
ok this one’s a doozy so stick around cuz I’ll show you what people don’t talk about in this edition.
I had not read the maze runner books since middle school ( I am a high school senior now) so I am not brushed up on my knowledge but Newt was my favourite character of all time and his death crushed me.

First things first, I do Like how they describe the effects on the flare and how it slowly makes Newt mad. and the rest is spoilers:
Spoilerthe last thing i liked was the keyshas speech at the end and how newt got his memories back at the end

By the way, No offence to the narrator but him trying to do Newts’ British accent had me laughing so hard because how bad it was.

Other than that, that’s all I liked. This wasn’t the Newt pov I wanted to see. I wished we got a lot more ivy trio content. The second thing was alot of the audiobook is kind of boring and I feel as if there is not really a plot happening and that James just made a book around this idea.
The third thing was that I was around halfway through and still nothing really important or exciting had happened, still exposition to a weak plot that kept getting sidetracked.
The last thing is that I was also so confused on the timeline of events and how it all fits into the main series because when the fuck does this all happened cuz that isn’t really established. ( could also be my lack of knowledge, as I have not returned to the series in a long while). But like if someone could explain that for me that’d be great.

confused spoilers:
SpoilerIn the last little bit, how did newt say he was alone with his journal but then is suddenly shot by Tommy and keyshas talking to him

overall, I went into this optimistic, I had heard such great things and was excited, but all I was met with was a confusing timeline, a strange attempt at a British accent, and a whole novel just purely exposition.

If after this you are still wanting to listen to this, do NOT spend your money on it. I’m pretty sure the whole audiobook has been uploaded onto YouTube.
