This novel from the Patternmaster series depicts a disease that changes the behaviour and abilities of infected people in a near-future world. I liked this novel for its exploration of how different people respond to and resist being controlled by the disease, as well as the world-building which depicted both positive (scientific and technological breakthroughs) and dystopian (gross inequalities and violence) elements. In terms of the three books in the series I have read so far, I enjoyed this book more and thought the writing was much better than Mind of My Mind
Graphic: Sexual violence and Toxic relationship
Moderate: Adult/minor relationship, Animal death, Kidnapping, Suicide, and Torture
Minor: Incest and Racism
