Three hundred years ago, Lily chose duty instead of the love of Caleb. After being widowed shortly after, she has lived a life of solitude as one of the Prophets of the Realm. Although Fate made Caleb a prophet years ago, he has been perfectly content to remain the Realm Rebel. Now that negotiations are in place to have a meeting for peace, Caleb and Lily are thrust together again. And they both are feeling that old desire, but are feeling the pressure from Fate herself.
I was happy for Caleb to get a book to himself - although we haven't seen him again in the series since he became a prophet. I really like his character, but even more so, I love Lily. I feel like she was able to finally break out of her shell and reveal her true nature.
And now we're SO CLOSE to the end of the series. Sadness!
