The Echo of Old Books is the first book(in a few years) I've picked without looking at the ratings. It was in my recommended books list. Just like every book lover ever, I was drawn to its title. I read the premise and thought it would fit my taste even though I am not a fan of historical fiction. I'm glad I read this.

This story was beautiful, raw and heartbreaking. When I picked this book, I was not expecting to shed tears. But I did, and there I was, highlighting heart wrenching quotes through my tear-blurred vision. I will always wish to read this for the first time again. It is going to take a while for me to recover from this.

This book discussed some heavy themes like war and politics during the Nazi invasion in United States and about it's effects on the "haves" and "have-nots".

If you have read this books premise, that is enough. Go for it. You don't have to know anything else(except for trigger warnings, like every book). This book has one of my favorite writing styles, the dual timeline. I am a sucker for the back and forth story telling and a tragic story of love.

Overall, loved this book. The characters are going to stay in my heart for a long time to come.
