Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
4.0
I absolutely hate it when the main character is an arrogant bitch. Let's just start with saying that.
I truly thought that Celeana Dardothien was going to be nothing more than that. I am happy to say that I ended up not despising her. Yay! Her friendship with princess Nehemia made her far more likeable. Since this is a huge ass series I hope we get more into the character of Celeana so we can understand her better and relate to her more. Her moves are cool though. Who wouldn't want to be an assassin aka murderess badass?
One thing that bothers me a lot is: HOW THE F DO YOU PRONOUNCE THEIR NAMES?? SJM has a serious problem with this. Celeana might look cool, but in my head I just go like 'Selena'. And do NOT even get me started on Chaol. Is it Caol? Kale?? Cole??? Just like Rhysand is pronounced as ree-sand and not rai-sand? HUH?
Praying for easier - yet still lovely- names in the next book and more character development.
And is there a thing for fantasy books that the king always has to be an evil person? WHY? It infuriates me so much for some reason.
Also, did I buy the box set of this whole series before even reading the first book? Maybe. Do I regret it? Time will tell! SJM, don't fail me now.
