Okay so…why did I like this? Like the first two books I LOATHE but this book I ate it up. I think Laura can write guy’s point of view because writing Callie did not go well. She kept annoying me but Desmond. Everything about his point of view made my heart wrung. I think if the story was in Desmond’s pov I would’ve actually enjoyed it. Maybe. There is things that Des does that irks me like him saying how much he loves her and then afterwards says things like how young she is and talking about how she’s a teenager and blah blah blah. What the fuck?! Now onto things I enjoyed.

I love hearing him say that he loves her just hearing it made me smile AND NOTHING MORE as it’s still weird that they knew each other when she was fucking SIXTEEN YEARS OLD. Anyway, moving on. The scene of Callie being sick and him taking care of her and how he needed to go but didn’t want to leave her alone so he disguises himself so he can still take care of her. That was cute but he ruined it by talking about how young she is. I did wish that Desmond resisted a bit more like tried everything not to fall for her cause it felt so fast in my opinion which also makes sense since it’s a novella. But anyway, he went from hating the idea of having a mortal mate to going to Earth to falling for her I just wished we could’ve seen more of him not wanting to have mortal mate instead of him just going from “eugh I don’t want to be seem weak with a mortal mate” to “I want my mate now” like it was a switch.

But yeah, I only enjoyed this novella, and I don’t typically like novellas so me enjoying this just speaks volumes.
