I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy

A gripping, powerfully vulnerable piece. Jennette is a force and I am a better person for having sat with her story. It made me grateful for my own mother and her insistence on my remaining a child as long as I could, even when I begged her to take me to open casting calls as a kid. Her rejection of my desire for childhood stardom was a saving grace I will never stop being thankful for.
