I didn’t like this.
It was interesting however, to see sexuality written & portrayed in this book by (presumably) a muslim author - particularly when considering Islamic beliefs surrounding modesty, in contrast to the actions of Wad Rayyes & co.
For the most part it’s beautifully written, albeit some scenes confronting (particularly that with Wad Rayyes & Houda I believe her name was) - which I am now scarred by.
+ it was sickening to read about Mustafa Sa’eed and the things he’d done to numerous women despite ‘not being a threat’.
