I have heard great things about this books for years, but have not worked my way to it until now. It lives up to the hype. While this was written over 90 years ago, and there are some ways in which this is quite clear, it is also surprisingly modern and reads well. In fact, the character of Lord Wimsey is developed more in this book than in the earlier ones with him in it, and I appreciate that. This is the book that introduces Harriet Vane - and left this reader wanting to hear more from her. There is also a fair amount of humor and silliness, as well as some suspenseful moments. Obviously I liked it and recommend it if you enjoy mysteries.
Moderate: Misogyny
