I really loved this book - very smart to have Death as the narrator and adds an interesting removed element to it
It was desperately sad and explores the many victims of war and the fact that everyday humanity still exists even in the darkest of times
It reminded me a bit of the boy in the striped pyjamas, but with more moving around and exploring contexts of the war on a wider scale and how it affected those of Hemmel street
I loved all the characters in their own unique way and l was sad to leave their story
