Gold Digger by Tatum West

Inconsistencies and incorrect info galore.

Wow. This author usually has some basic issues that would be easily caught by a decent editor, but this book was riddled with them. There were so many things that made no sense! Like Liam stating he doesn’t have a cell phone so they don’t exchange numbers, and then in the next chapter Grayson is mad because Liam hasn’t texted or called him. Huh? And then you have things that are completely wrong and would have taken a quick Google search. Virginia Tech is the Hokies. Not the Cavaliers (that’s UVA). Super easy to double check.

Now, I love a good second chance romance. Unfortunately, the story was predictable and boring and I never felt any chemistry between the characters. Way too much telling and not showing. There’s a flashback to their childhood, but nothing on page that makes a romantic connection make sense. We’re only ever told about it. So I ended up skipping all the steamy scenes and skimmed through half the book. And the whole book was just Grayson showing off his wealth. Makes zero sense considering Liam supposedly loves him for who he is and not for his money. No wonder everybody thinks Liam is a gold digger.

Overall this series has been ok with at least 2 books I really enjoyed (the first book and Fox’s book). I have one more book to go and I hope it’s at least better than this one.
