The Space Between by Brenna Yovanoff

4.0

I'd actually give this book 3 1/2 stars if I could because while over all I really did enjoy it, there were some parts that I did not.

I got this book from the library because the summary I had read somewhere sounded like it would be interesting. But before actually reading it I read the summary on the slip cover and couldn't help but think "I thought this sounded good?" But I read on. The beginning was unimpressive. I was not sucked into the story and Daphne really seemed liked a flat character with no ambition and no real knowledge of the world. Though I suppose that is probably just because of her upbringing. But once she went to the human world the story became much more interesting to me and I wanted to find out more and more what would happen. I'm not quite sure how I feel about Truman, but Moloch really grew on me. I loved Beelzebub's character even though he wasn't around too much. I found the ending kind of disappointing though. I did not like what happened with Truman, and was definitely not happy with what happened to Beelzebub.
SpoilerI mean really, you actually killed him!? Least of the reasons would be won't that have some bad repercussions in Pandemonium? I really would have rather him just get some sort of punishment. Daphne needed him probably as much as the city did.
The good with the bad, I still think it was a good story.
