Ok I'm not going to lie, I had very very very low expectations coming in. Firstly, this book was recommended by booktok snd i take booktok recommendations with a very miniscule grain of salt. I anticipate that it'll be another poorly written wattpad-esque  book but first chapter in I was already hooked.

I loved the premise of it- hidden daughter who grew up in less than fortunate circumstances finds love in her family.  Though I was disappointed that right when she opened up to her family there was a 5 month time jump  we eventually get to see what took place) and missed the "bonding" she did with her family. I hated that. Especially since the book focuses heavily on found family, I feel like we were robbed of that.

The plot was good- predictable but not bad-. The characters, relationships, her love interest (I'm simping for him and I refuse to stand up), her strength and the way she stands up for herself and her family, the banter, the smutttt like. I fear I may have developed a praise kink.

I hope the author seizes the opportunity to turn this into a series. I loved it.
