Broody Devil by Melissa Ivers

4.0

I was so excited to be back with our Devils and find out about our broody one! Rhett is the trouble seeking, grumpy hockey player that wants nothing to do with Lucy having to improve his image. Lucy is such a fun and fierce character and I just love how she doesn’t back down from a challenge. They are the definition of a grumpy sunshine romance. While in Vegas, they find themselves accidentally married! The accidentally married/fake marriage trope is not one of my favorites but Melissa did this one so well that I enjoyed it and couldn’t put the book down until I was done! (Although I do wish there was a bit more on the possibility of them being drugged!)

Who doesn’t love a dirty talking, filthy hockey player? Rhett was all of that and oh so hott! The more time Rhett spends with Lucy, the harder it is for them to maintain this fake marriage and not to break their rules. I loved their banter back and forth, the way they communicated with each other was fun and easy and you could tell their relationship was going from fake to real. Even though Rhett’s heart was warming towards Lucy, he was still keeping plenty of secrets from her. Those secrets severely threatened their relationship. I was very annoyed with Rhett’s relationship with his dad, I kept yelling at my kindle for him to stop answering his phone or to yell back at him! Will Rhett open up to Lucy in time to save their marriage? Or is he going to push her away and end their marriage?
