This is a dark, addicting fantasy series that has hooked me in! I know this series is going to be good β I can feel it. Gild is definitely an intro book that sets the stage for the rest of the series. Lots of world building and an intriguing storyline that will keep you going.
Auren, our FMC, is very intriguing. She comes across as a little naive, sheltered, caring, funny, and very brave. She is also in love with her captor. As a child she was saved by Midas, who tricked her into believing he loved her and would protect her. For over a decade she has lived in this golden cage believing everything. We feel her struggles throughout the story. She starts off weak, but ends strong. I canβt wait to see more of her character development as we continue on.
