Before You Judge Me: The Triumph and Tragedy of Michael Jackson's Last Days by Tavis Smiley, David Ritz

Received this in a Goodreads giveaway. Thank you!

A few years ago I discovered Michael Jackson's music, and I enjoy some of his songs and watching some of his music videos. The events surrounding his life and death are definitely mysterious and misconstrued, and it was interesting reading more about him, his beloved children, the way he conducted his life, and of course, how much he loved music. I didn't know that he was even a lover of classical music, and that apparently he was an avid reader, even buying books for his three kids.

I thought that the writing in this was simple, but it still introduces you to the cast and characters of Michael Jackson's music and life. He is an icon of American music, and for all the stereotypes he broke along the way. Read this if you are even just the slightest bit intrigued by this musical legend.
