I Would Leave Me If I Could: A Collection of Poetry by Halsey

5.0

H has always been a vulnerable artist. I knew this poetry book would cut me like a knife the day it released. I read fragmented pieces, but saved the whole thing, putting it off, knowing it was simply too raw and too personal for my life at the time of its release. Now, years later, I am older, my wounds from my late teens and early twenties have scarred over, and while some of the overarching themes in this poetry collection may hit close to home, they resonate in a more collected, matured way now. Less bloody, but still tender, still raw. Halsey - Ashley, is a visionary artist, who puts her insides on display for their fans. And it is a huge privilege. I cannot wait to see what we get lyrically on H5/A02, especially after reading IWLMIIC in full.
