[ A psychological thriller surrounding six women on a bachelorette trip to a remote Greek island, where secrets unravel and tensions rise, leading to a deadly turn.]

Despite being a thriller and marketed as one, I found a big chunk of this book, which is about 80%, not thrilling at all. It has a character-driven plot. The characters are very complex and in depth, which then makes this book somehow enjoyable and I was very much entertained by the never-ending drama that was going on in this book. It was like I was sipping tea every time I turned the page, the drama was drama-ing β˜•. Apart from all this, I also find it interesting that as a thriller, this book manages to impeccably serve topics such as girlhood, motherhood, sense of self, and yearning, whether it be an attachment to a person, or to you yourself. The female friendship in this book makes my heart warm. That ending was so cute I literally cried.

The characters were very well done in my opinion, very realistic aka I wanted to smack some of them in the head, which is a crazy thing to say, considering a scene in this book involves this (iykyk). My favourite is Bella because she is not afraid to be herself despite the secret she holds, but then everyone has secrets, especially these six women. And another figure....🌚 Anyway, the character Bella was so real and was never afraid to speak her truth, even if it hurts, if it means she could make her best friend, Lexi, happy. The relationship drama though, despite being disappointed for the lack of thrills in this book, I was so invested in the drama AND THE PLOT TWISTS???? My jaw was on the floor. I did not see ANY of that coming at all.

I personally liked the writing. I love that the author touches human emotions and desperations. Robyn’s yearning for freedom, Bella and Fen’s complicated relationship, Eleanor’s grief, and of course, Lexi, but talking about Lexi here might spoil the book. Why don't you go read it and find out.

Overall, I am still disappointed that this was not as thrilling as I hoped it would be, but I did not regret reading it at all, in fact, I am glad I did. The writing and the interesting build up made it worth the read.
