The pacing of this one is a little weird - the last couple of chapters feel like they would've been better as the opening to a new book, rather than the conclusion of this one. Nevertheless, what I'm learning about myself this year is that I love character-driven fantasy. Do I fully understand all the political machinations going on here? No I do not! But the characters and their arcs remain consistently enjoyable and that's more than enough for me.
