Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun, Vol. 3 by Izumi Tsubaki

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun? More like, THIS SERIES WILL MAKE YOU LAUGH UNTIL YOU CRY

I really love all the characters, and the author gets double kudos for upsetting gender roles/stereotypes so frequently. The art is amazing, especially the colour pages at the beginning- and though it took a while to get used to, I find the 4 panels per page format a nice change for manga.

Also, I know, I know, it's probably never, ever going to happen. The couples in this manga are mostly just for comedic purposes and likely aren't going to get together... But, seriously, I SHIP EVERYONE SO MUCH. Sakura and Nozaki, Kashima and Hori, Seo and Waka. Mikoshiba and... Ehhhh, Mikoshiba has his video games lmao

Oooh, but one thing I've always wondered is whether this is classed as a shoujo or shounen series? Like, it completely turns all the shoujo tropes on their heads, and I remember my friend telling me it was shounen... But the art style, and lots of the characters do still seem fairly shoujo... I DON'T KNOW

Oh yeah, and, if you haven't already seen it, I'd definitely recommend the anime! It sticks really closely to this amazing manga series, and the voice acting is brilliant ((:
