Mother Knows Best by Karen MacInerney

3.0

Margie Peterson is a private investigator and things aren't going well for her. Her husband explains his affair with a drag queen to be just a phase and plans to go to to a retreat called "Journey to Manhood." Margie's mother takes it upon herself to replace almost everything in her kitchen with healthier alternatives. In addition, she receives a call from her friend to move a dead body. Turns out the body is the headmaster of the new school her daughter is attending.

Mother Knows Best is actually the second book to the Margie Peterson series. I haven't read the first book but found it fairly easy to get acquainted with the characters. Sure, if you wanted more background and more in-depth information of certain things like her husband's affair is probably in the first book.

I found myself laughing at the different situations Margie came across. It was also fun to read the antics of the supporting characters. As a mystery, Karen MacInerney had me guessing the whole way through.

I was given a copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
