This series is kinda just all concept, no story. It reads very quickly and has moments of engaging, dramatic, and rather gorey death scenes. The characters all get their little tragic backstories one by one, but they still feel underdeveloped.

But to be honest, my expectations were totally skewed when this was recommended to me as a wholesome series (lmao???) and I wasn't quite prepared for what I got instead.
