This book was a bit confusing. I think times should have been included at the beginning of the chapters as it wasn't always clear what order things were happening in.
But the mystery part was pretty good. If nearer the end it is a bit obvious. I HATED Mick, as I think you were supposed to, but I didn't feel sorry for him at all.
I loved the found family theme. And that the family you make can be more important than the family you're born into. However, the family you're born into can also be the family you choose and you can of course add and subtract from that.

Graphic: Blood, Toxic friendship, Murder, Violence, and Toxic relationship
Moderate: Gun violence
The "animal death/cruelty" listed by others is the opening with a description of a Christmas turkey, which while gross isn't that bad.
