"You are a test,  Goddess.
A trial offered to me by the Fates."

This is probably my third retelling of Hades X Persephone.
I don’t think I enjoyed it as much as I thought I would.
H&P are a classic mythology couple that I enjoy reading.
This book is quite simple. One. Persephone is being sheltered by her mother but she wants to get out of it. Two. She meets the god of death, and he is as handsome, mysterious and freakin’ tall.
Character wise; Persephone wasn’t a fun ride. She seems to centred on one thing and in many case, she doesn’t seem to have an open mind. Hopefully, she will grow more in the next book. Her being a reporter made her character even undesirable.
Hades, as handsome as he was and as mysterious he always will be interpreted, I hope to see more of him too, his thoughts(I know he has his own books…).

"You heed no prayer. You offer
no mercy."

I actually enjoyed when Persephone talks back to Hades:
"Lord Hades, the only wag you are getting answers from me is if I decide to end into another gamble with you, and at the momen, it not likely. […] I think you will regret this, Hades."

“We've been through this, haven't we? You are mine. I think you know that just as well as I do"
She folded her arms over her chest. "Have you ever thought that maybe you're mine instead?”
His lips twitched and his eyes fell to her wrist. "It is my mark upon your skin."

"Let me show you what it is to hold power in your hands," he said. "Let me coax the darkness from you I will help you shape it."

How do you think you fulfilled the terms of your  contract?”
Persephone looked at her, confused. "I grew something.
It wasn't beautiful. She wasn't even sure it could be called a plant, but it was alive and that was what mattered. “
The goddess shook her head. "No. You fulfilled the contract because you created life within Hades. Because you brought life to the Underworld."
