All the Quiet Places by Brian Thomas Isaac

4.0

It took me a bit to get into the book because it is such a heavy read and it excellently covers the struggles of Eddie growing up on a reserve that doesn't have any Indigenous kids and having to face discrimination early on. His family has a lot of unsolved trauma that they direct towards him. This book made me feel strongly and made me feel so sympathetic for Eddie and the conditions he had to grow up in and the things he had to endure all because of an uncontrolled factor, his racial identity. The ending of the book had my heart in my throat. The cliffhanger gave me a sort of relief but a desire for more, this was a good book and most definitely an eye opening read.
