The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

This silly little book.

It’s not that i didn’t like it, it has everything going for it, it’s so easy to read, it’s entertaining, it has the twists, the turns and the who-done-it of it all and yet it just didn’t really hook it’s teeth into me until the literal last 5 pages that delivered so much that they managed to justify the rest of 370-ish pages before them.

And it makes me even more upset, because the whole time while i was reading it i was going “i’m not sure about this one” maybe because at times i found it too juvenile for my liking or it steered too much into some cliches i don’t like in books (like the whole swooning over boys (in this case) that are supposed to be dangerous but their danger equals the one of a safety pin) but it just didn’t do much for me until the very end.

The way it set up the next installment is brilliant because it pulled in some of the most neglected details into the main focus for the plot of the next books.
