4.0

The complexity of love and identity are at the forefront of this Maggie O’Farrell novel. Long buried secrets upend a family with more than their fair share of mysteries in the closet. Finely rendered characters who are believably complicated, sometimes courageous and often foolish. Told from varying viewpoints, each narrative adds insight to history of this particular family which is so unique in structure yet whose peculiarities do not insulate them from the universality of heartbreak and grief. Excellent writing finely crafted.
