Another Appalachia: Coming Up Queer and Indian in a Mountain Place by Neema Avashia

emotional inspiring reflective fast-paced

4.5

I really enjoyed this one. Each part is short but so meaningful to both the author and to me personally as well. I might not be a person of color and I'm not from West Virginia but I am queer and trans from a heavy Christian area and the overall themes of otherness I really connected to. This memoir is beautifully written and I'm very glad i picked it up.
