Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Long Way Home by Joss Whedon

4.0

A re-read. Well it is a bunch of years later. And the new is definitely polished off Buffy. This is still pretty good. But it doesn't have the oomph of memory and commitment. The cast is still pretty good, the new cast has possibilities. The art is a little unevenly printed and it feels like an omnibus kind of problem. It is a bit of a struggle to remember who is who, and who made it into the very end of season 7. But it still basically works. 4 of 5.

The graphic novel series for Buffy the Vampire Slayer is the official season 8 of the series. As such it is planned and plotted and to some degree written by Joss Whedon. I've read the first 3 twice and I think its brilliant and fun and look forward to getting the rest from the library - I am hoping they reprint season 8 in omnibus form - because its even more compact then the graphic novel form - so for now I'm holding off buying. But otherwise it is certainly worth owning. Even if Buffy is just about as much of a whiner as Harry Potter ever was, I still like her. And Faith and Giles and Dawn and Xander remain. I miss Anya but her name-sake cat is wandering around the house. 4.5 of 5.
