The Origins of Totalitarianism by Hannah Arendt

challenging informative reflective slow-paced

5.0

This is a must read for anyone intending to understand the 20th century. There is not much that I can say about it, but I will write down two points which I believe are relevant to anybody trying to approach this read for the first time:

1.      Arendt writes as if you already know what she is talking about. This includes historical facts from the early middle ages, to late XIX century politics. It is no shame to have Wikipedia by your side to check up quickly.
2.      Her views on anti-Semitism are her own. They are valuable – immensely so – but they are not the only one nor are they a complete picture of opinions held by the majority of Jews. Additionally, more research has been done which puts into perspective some of her statements. Further reads on the matter are highly encouraged.
