Wish You Were Here by Rita Mae Brown

3.0

The mystery was a bit too easy for me, and some conversations between pet characters involve them promoting eugenics and pathological models of crime, which I realize is an absurd phrase. It makes some degree of sense that animals would think that way, but I found it quite upsetting in contrast with their general aura of sensible cuteness. The series has been running such a long time, and I enjoyed the local details and character voices so much, that I would like try at least one more and see whether Brown eased off this choice with time.
