This was by far my favourite book in the series and such a great ending to the Kane brothers trilogy.

Cal and Lana were childhood best friends and each other's first loves. After suffering through years of addiction, a career ending injury pushes him over the edge and he leaves Lana. 6 years later, he returns to fulfill his part of his grandfathers will.

I love seeing the growth of Cal throughout this entire trilogy, especially in this book. He makes a lot of mistakes, but you can see how much he loves Lana and Cami. He spends so much of this book working towards being worthy of their love and trying to love himself. I appreciate that this book showed the many sides of addiction and didn't just brush it off with a quick and easy resolution. Cal is definitely a man of actions, and he works to show Lana how committed he is to her and Cami and how determined he is to get and stay sober.

The women in this trilogy are so strong and fierce. They take on the Kane brothers when others cower.
Spoiler After heartbreaks and losses, Lana has stepped up to be the mother that Cami deserves. She is  understandably cautious when it comes to Cal and has a hard time trusting him.  He broke her heart and she is afraid of history repeating itself. We see her slowly opening up to the idea of a relationship with Cal and learning to trust him again. She always makes sure that Cami is at the forefront of any decision she makes, knowing that her growing attached to Cal and potentially losing him would be heartbreaking.

She and Cal no doubt have their ups and downs but you can see how much they love each other.

I loved getting an update on the brothers lives and see how much more they have grown as individuals and in their relationships. The father getting what he deserves is icing on the cake!

Tropes: Second chance romance, billionaire, childhood best friends to lovers, forced proximity
