❝Sometimes bad things happen and you’re unprepared and you make choices that seem good to you at the time, and then you look back and wish there were things you could undo, but you can’t, and that’s that.❞

i went into this with the expectations of an immersive and atmospheric isolated mystery.

expectations were met, but i still wasn't prepared, and neither was my heart.

this is the story of Cooper and his now eight year-old daughter Finch, the love of a father for his daughter, and the lengths he would go to protect her that resulted in them residing and surviving off-the-grid in a cabin deep in the Appalachian woods.

father-daughter dynamics will always have a soft spot in my heart, and this simply further cemented that. but this story in particular moved me in more ways than i can describe. this felt incredibly personal to me.

character rich, masterfully atmospheric, and absolutely breathtaking.

❝The thing about grace is that you don’t deserve it. You can’t earn it. You can only accept it. Or not.❞
