Můj život u sousedů by Huntley Fitzpatrick
Did not finish book.
2.0
I purchased this ebook in 2017 with every intention of reading it, but alas, I did not. And unfortunately, either the book really is that poor or I've become too much of a curmudgeonly adult over the past two years because I really did not care for My Life Next Door.
It felt like a mashup of "Cheaper By The Dozen" and "My Date With the President's Daughter," but without Will Friedle's charm or Alyson Stoner as Sarah Baker's sass. The prose felt immature — it was lacking that "I'm seventeen and I'm practically an adult" false sense of maturity and confidence — and the way they were written leading up to that first kiss, there was zero romantic tension between Jase and Sam. In my opinion, their chemistry suits best friends rather than boyfriend + girlfriend. As such, I DNF'd this book at 30% with no hesitation. It felt juvenile and I couldn't find it in myself to care enough about the characters or the story to continue reading.
★★☆☆☆ 2.85 out of 5 stars
