The Memory Police by Yōko Ogawa
3.0
I have absolutely no idea what I just read.
I can appreciate the writing. And I have the feeling that if it had just been explained a bit more, I may have understood it and enjoyed it more.
I didn't dislike any of it enough to rate it lower than 3 stars, or like any of it enough to rate it higher than 3 stars. 3 stars seems like the right rating.
This is a book about people on an island where memories disappear. Only some people don't forget things, and they are the ones who are in trouble. I get the feeling that this has a bigger message than I'm understanding right now. Maybe if I read it again some time I'll understand it more.
Overall, I didn't dislike this book, but I am not sure I'd recommend it to anyone else.
