A cozy mystery that skews towards quirky characters and found family dynamics. There's something hilarious about a fussy Chinese American mother gathering a bunch of suspects to figure out who is the true murderer while matchmaking and feeding them. There are parts that strain credibility even with a quirky suspension of disbelief; such as Vera acting more like an 80 year old than sixty, or two year old Emma behaving like a baby or kindergartener in her dialogue, depending on what was needed for the plot.
