Exile and the Kingdom by Albert Camus

2.0

The thing is with short stories, is that once you start getting attached to the characters, the story ends and you have to start anew with literary strangers as the cycle repeats. Short stories are thus as enjoyable as the language in which they are written and the feelings they evoke, and I do not believe Camus delivered with this one. Perhaps reading it in French would have been a different experience.
